FAILURE-BASED MAINTENANCE PLANNING USING BAYESIAN NETWORKS: A CASE STUDY HYDRAULIC TURBINE

The assessment of existing infrastructures in the energy sector is great economic importance for world. extension power generation life hydroelectric plants depends on logical decisions regarding maintenance and renewal equipment. For this purpose, a Bayesian network (BN) has been applied to evaluate failures hydraulic turbine calculate failure turbine. Forty-six nodes have identified that will affect operation system. Preventive measures established with highest posterior probability. By creating four different cases, probabilities change main fault calculated. How much savings could be made each case determined maintenance. This proposed framework guided determining strategies plant operators.
